So glad you joined! Here is some more information about being on our team.
Time Commitment
The Machine Mavericks runs throughout the school year. But what does that mean?
It means from Sept through June, at the workshop and at home, there are opportunities for team members to learn and practice new skills -- whether that's learning how a machine works, how to program a robot to move autonomously, giving informational presentations, or participating in fundraisers. Students and their families will get out of FIRST Robotics whatever they decide to put in. We encourage all students to jump in, learn real world skills and problem solving, and help to make our team the best at what it does: build robots, compete and share our love of STEM.
Team Roles
Each year we must assess which students are on our team, their skill and interest level, and their commitment to learning and contributing to the team atmosphere and goals. These factors help determine which students hold on-field and off-field competition roles.

Family Volunteering
Machine Mavericks is 100% volunteer run. We NEED parents and families to contribute what they can to making our team a success. Please speak with us about how you might be able to volunteer. Here's a short presentation about volunteering with FIRST in general: LINK.
